Planetary.Blue Biospheric Information Reliability Index (BIRI™)
1. Purpose
The Biospheric Information Reliability Index (BIRI™) is designed to assess the reliability, transparency, and traceability of biosphere-related information sources, not the actual information itself.
BIRI™ does not assess environmental performance, regulatory compliance, financial risk, ethical conduct, or corporate governance.
2. Independence and Oversight
Planetary.blue commits to:
- Maintaining methodological independence
- Avoiding conflicts of interest in scoring
- Separating commercial licensing from scoring decisions
- Maintaining an internal review committee for scoring governance
3. Methodology Governance
Planetary.blue will:
- Maintain a documented scoring methodology
- Conduct periodic methodology reviews
- Record methodology updates in a change log
- Anchor methodology version hashes to distributed ledgers for transparency
4. Score Integrity and Auditability
Planetary.blue will:
- Maintain an authoritative registry of BIRI™ scores
- Publish daily cryptographic tracking root proofs of the registry
- Anchor tracking roots on distributed ledgers for tamper evidence
- Retain historical score records permanently
5. Appeals and Corrections
